Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) is a program that is installed on all Windows 11 systems. It's used to remotely connect to another computer, and at NAC, it's used with the Global Protect VPN to remotely connect to a computer at the office after the VPN connection is established.
You can adjust the settings to accommodate dual remote monitors, among other things.
If you have set up an RDP shortcut on your desktop, right-click over the shortcut and select Edit.
Click Show Options in the lower left
When you do, the box expands and you can make adjustments to several items.
The Display tab controls the ability to use multiple monitors if the computer you are connecting to has more than one monitor. Select Use all my monitors for the remote session.
You can also adjust the display size and screen quality (if you have a very slow Internet connection you may want to reduce this setting).
Local Resources allows you to control Remote audio, Keyboard shortcuts and Local Printers and Clipboard redirection. Usually these settings are best left at their default.
Experience can be adjusted if you have a very slow Internet connection and experience slow response while connected remotely. Usually just leave this setting at the default (Detect connection quality automatically)
There is almost never a need to change any settings on the Advanced tab unless someone from IT tells you to do so.
