If you remote into a machine, either in the office or remotely via the VPN, the font size may be too small for you to comfortably read, especially if you have a very high resolution local monitor.
There are two things you can try
- Before you connect to the remote machine, click Show Options
Then click the Display tab.
Experiment with adjusting the slider left and right to reduce or enlarge the remote desktop window. - If that doesn't work, you can connect to the computer and click in the upper left corner. If Smart sizing is not checked, you can check that, and the text size should dynamically change as you change the size of the window.
Or you can select the Zoom option by unchecking the Smart sizing option, then manually select the zoom size.
If you want to save a shortcut to the remote machine you can follow these instructions.
Create Remote Desktop Connection Shortcut
However, only the first option here (clicking the Display tab and changing the display size) will be saved with your shortcut. The second option must be set EACH TIME that you connect to the remote machine.
