There are some different options available including on demand recording that requires no setup, you just click to start the recording once you start the Teams meeting.
*First thing to note, it must be a meeting, you cannot record a call that you made between two people (the Record option will be unavailable)
1. Start on Demand
Once you start the meeting you can click the three-dot menu and you will find Start Recording about ¾ of the way down the menu.
Click Start recording and it will start recording and show the recording progressing in the top left corner.
2. Set Meeting to Automatically Record
After you create the Teams meeting and send the invite you can go back into the meeting and set the meeting to Record automatically.
Open the meeting in Outlook and you will see Meeting Options at the top.
Click on Meeting Options and you will see the following dialog box open on screen.
Check the box beside Record automatically.
Make sure you click Save (if you do not see the Save button scroll down a little bit, it will sometimes hide)
Finding the Recording
Once the meeting is finished you can go a couple of different places to find the recording.
You can go to the Meeting in your Chat tab in Teams and you will see that the recording is being saved, or that the recording is ready.
You can click the three-dot menu and you will get a few options, two of which are Open and Get link – these will either take you to your OneDrive in the Browser, or create a link to your OneDrive that you can share with attendees of the meeting.
You can also find the recording in your OneDrive folder in the Recordings folder on your local machine.
***There is one gotcha that can send you scratching your head if you set the meeting to Record automatically.
The Recording will be saved at the above location of whoever started the meeting by joining first, not who scheduled the meeting. A way to remedy this is to make sure you start the meeting before someone else has the chance to start it.
