If you receive a message indicating you have a calendar entry with a conflict, this is most likely caused by a recent update to Microsoft Outlook.
The issue will show up as a message similar to one of the following if you try to open, edit, or delete a calendar entry.
If you try to delete the calendar entry, you may see this message.
As of 6/27/2024, this is a known issue with Outlook. Microsoft is working to find a solution. However, you can move past this issue with a temporary fix (below).
To mitigate the issue, you can use the Clear Offline Items for your calendar. These steps clear the calendar items in the Outlook store (OST) on your local machine.
To clear offline Calendar items, follow these steps:
- Open the Calendarpane in Outlook, and right-click the Calendarfolder.
- Select Properties.
- On the Generaltab, select Clear Offline Items.
- Select OK.
After you clear offline items, Outlook will re-sync the calendar and repopulate your calendar folder with the calendar items on the server. Be patient and don't worry if you see all of your calendar entries disappear. They will return once the re-sync process is complete.

The issue may return at some point, and if it does, just follow the same instructions above to clear your Calendar Offline Items.
Once Microsoft releases a fix, it will automatically be applied to your machine and the problem should stop occurring.
